The theme for the 10th TEDxAmsterdamWomen event was a big one- ‘The State of Mind.’ To create a state of mind by 2029 where we no longer say “female” before the CEO or President or speaker. A world without gender bias, where TEDxAmsterdamWomen is no longer needed.

TheTEDxAmsterdam Women event 2019, an inspirational event for and by women. For the last 10 years, TEDxAmsterdamWomen has provided a stage for inspiring women and men who focus on issues that affect women in our world today. Upon the 10 year anniversary, Nomads was engaged as a creative partner to promote the milestone event in a truly memorable and impactful way.

 
 

A world where women still aren’t equal. It’s no secret that in today’s world, gender bias is still an issue. It’s been over a hundred years since the Suffragettes movement, and women still don’t have equal rights. To add to this, there’s now a whole world online where gender bias is rampant, particularly in non-human applications like AI and algorithms. This affects everything from a woman’s credit limit to whether or not she is offered a job.

 
 

The idea was not to create a campaign, but to create a state of mind. A state of mind where, by 2029, gender bias has been eliminated. Where we no longer need to say ‘female’ before President. Where men and women are equal and TEDxAmsterdamWomen - a separate women’s event - is no longer needed.

 

Bold communications for a bold idea. The theme through the TEDxAmsterdamWomen website, social and digital channels and with posters that featured a series of key visuals expressing our new philosophy and ambition.
